The Norfolk Southern was formed by the merger of the Norfolk & Western and Southern Railroads. White the two companies merged in 1982, it was not until much later that the names were changed and began operating as the Norfolk Southern. The Scotts-dale Division is a (fictitious) division of the Norfolk Southern, thus most of the pictures that are not of the Scotts-dale Division available on this site are of the Norfolk Southern.
